With deep regret, the Armani Group announced the passing of Giorgio Armani, its founder and tireless creative force, at the age of 91. The designer passed away at his home in Milan, surrounded by his loved ones, and continued to work on his collections until his final days.

A legacy of effortless elegance.
Born in 1934 in Piacenza (Italy), Armani began studying medicine before discovering his vocation in fashion while working as a window dresser at La Rinascente in Milan. He later collaborated with Cerruti, Valentino and Zegna before founding his own firm in 1975.
He quickly became a benchmark with his personal stamp: minimalist tailoring, soft silhouettes and neutral tones. He pioneered the "power suit" style and transformed the office suit into an icon of sophistication in the 80s.

Tributes and honors: an international farewell.
Iconic figures such as Victoria Beckham and Donatella Versace expressed their grief and admiration, along with global leaders such as the Prime Minister of Italy, Giorgia Meloni. The world of fashion, cinema and politics paid tribute to the one who was called "Re Giorgio".
It was announced that there will be a public funeral chapel in Milan this weekend, followed by a private funeral according to his wishes.
