About the final project for: Specialization in drawing and expression of the human figure
Especialización en dibujo de la forma humana
“Final Project: Comprehensive Study of the Human Figure Objective The goal of this final project is to bring together everything you learned during the course to create a multifaceted work that represents the human figure from different perspectives, techniques, and emotions. This will be your opportunity to put your mastery of the body, the face, and their expressions into practice in different media, and shape a complete and personal artistic vision. Project Description Throughout the course, you explored the human body from multiple perspectives: anatomical study with Zursoif, free expression with Daniel Torrent, the pictorial sensibility of Ale Casanova, the relationship between figure and environment with Pedro Covo, and the precision of portraiture with Juan Perednik. Now it's time to integrate all these tools to bring to life a work that combines technique, intention, and emotion. This final project is a celebration of your evolution as an artist. You will create a series of pieces that interact with each other and reveal your unique way of observing and reinterpreting the human body. Project components 1. Idea and concept • Define a common thread that connects your works: an emotion, a visual theme, or a narrative. • Decide how you will represent the figure: from observation?, imagination?, metaphor? 2. Applied techniques • Detailed anatomical drawing with structure and proportion. • Realistic portrait with play of light and shadow. • Watercolor or oil painting that places the figure in a significant environment. 3. Personal style • Integrate your creative voice into every piece. • Experiment with color, distortion, or composition to give your series coherence. • Seek balance between technique and emotion. 4. Presentation • Take care of the finishes and quality of each work. • Support the project with a written analysis explaining your process, technical decisions, and overall concept. Steps for development 1. Inspiration and sketches • Gather visual or emotional references. • Make preliminary sketches of your three pieces. 2. Production of the works • Work on anatomical drawing with structural precision. • Develop the portrait by applying lights, shadows and expression. • Paint your composition in watercolor or oil, integrating background and figure. 3. Final details • Check proportions, color, cleanliness and visual unity. • Adjust as needed to achieve a solid and expressive result. 4. Documentation • Photograph your works in good light. • Write a text about your creative process and proposal. 5. Final delivery • A detailed anatomical drawing in a dynamic pose. • An expressive portrait that combines light and shadow techniques. • A watercolor or oil painting with a figure in context. • A written analysis of the process, inspiration and techniques used. • Clear photographs of the finished works and preliminary sketches. What you've created throughout this journey is a reflection of your evolution as an artist. Each piece, each stroke, and each technical decision contains an intention, an emotion, and a personal quest. Representing the human figure is also a way of understanding it, of interpreting it through your own questions, sensibilities, and discoveries. This is a time to pause, observe what you've achieved, and recognize the value of what comes from your hand and your gaze. It's not about achieving a perfect image, but rather about building your own language. The important thing is that you've already begun to speak with images. And that path, now, is all yours.”
