“We've altered parts of the garment to fit. Now how are we putting this thing back together? Let's lay our bodice out and measure the bottom edge. This is the width we will need our skirt to be. For example, I will be gathering my skirt to match it up to this bodice edge. Now I'm going to measure the edge of my bodice. Because we still have this zipper in place, I'm measuring just one side and that equals about 17 inches.
