A course by String Theories Fiber Design
Mikaela Szumigraj is a 3D macrame artist specializing in realistic fiber sculptures from Halifax, Canada. An aerospace engineer by trade, she brings her technical expertise to the world of macrame. Her background has inspired her to create unique 3D design techniques and aided her sense of spatial awareness.
She first began producing on a small scale in 2017, and gained a lot of attention on Instagram during the pandemic. Mikaela now sells her creations via her online shop in the form of macramé kits, wall hangings, basket weavings, soft sculptures, and more. She also has her own studio, String Theories Fiber Design. Over the last few years, she has dedicated her time to developing a technique for creating macramé leaves and vines on driftwood, which she continues to share with her many followers on Instagram.
