About the final project for: Introduction to Colorwork Sock Knitting

Introduction to Colorwork Sock Knitting

“Congratulations on finishing this course. Thank you so much for taking it; being your teacher has been a pleasure. I hope you have enjoyed it and feel inspired to create and cast on your own pairs of colourwork socks! So... it's your turn! Let me show you an example of how I would like to see your course project process: Design and Colours Choose which design you want to knit on your sock or create your own using the chart template. Then, choose carefully what colours and yarns you would like to use.

Shoe Size Measure the circumference of your foot to check which size you need to make and how many stitches you need to cast on. Knit! Knit up your sock! Don't forget to immediately knit up the second one to make yourself a pair to wear. Finally, sew in all your yarn ends, and wash and block your socks so your stitches look lovely. Be sure to show your socks off to everyone you meet!
While making your project, take a moment to create a swatch of your design. Check if the colours work well together. Does the colourwork design look like what you intended it to be? Is it recognisable, or do you need to make changes? Check your gauge is the same as recommended in the pattern. If not, change your needle size accordingly. Once your project is ready, share it on the forum by clicking the "Create your project" button. I will look at your publications as soon as possible and answer any doubts that need clarification. In the meantime, I encourage you to see what your fellow students have been up to and comment on their posts. See you soon!”

Then we looked at how to knit the colorwork for the leg section of your sock. We've looked at the structure of the sock and how to read a basic knitting pattern. I then showed you my process for designing a colorwor...”
