“In this lesson, I want to share with you a few people who have influenced and inspired my own work. One of the things that has influenced me is this book. It's called Rugs and Posts, and it's by H.L. James. It's an old book that shows trading posts and also images of Dene people. Navajo people are known for their rug designs, and I draw a lot of inspiration from rugs. Navajos would take their rugs to trading posts and sell their work in trade for goods. Some of these trading posts still exist, like Hubble Trading Post, and they have beautiful rug rooms full of thousands of different artists...”
