About the video: Search for inspiration and moodboard

Overview

“We may have a clear idea of what we want to design, what we like and where we want to go. My theme of inspiration is called "Greenhouse". I searched for images of fern leaves on Pinterest and Google. I have included real photos of this plant and some drawings of botany, architecture and fashion. I do not focus only on the ferns, but I try to find a general aesthetic to choose where my design will go. I recommend avoiding designs and patterns by other designers so as not to do something too similar to another illustrator, but images that inspire you to do something of your own. Then you can see my moodbaoard, I will always keep it in mind when drawing. As you can see I have removed 5 colors from my photos. Keep in mind that doing it in watercolor and not with direct Pantone will not be exactly the same, they can vary. ”

In this video lesson Mónica Muñoz Hernández addresses the topic: Search for inspiration and moodboard, which is part of the Domestika online course: Print design with the three -bolt technique. Create complex patterns that are repeated to infinity.
