About the final project for: Forest Fantasy Illustration in Procreate & Photoshop

Forest Fantasy Illustration in Procreate & Photoshop

“Congratulations on finishing this course. I hope you have found it interesting and learned a lot. You've learned to sketch, draw and color an illustration that includes fantastical elements and characters in an enchanted forest. Now it's your turn to create your magical illustrations. Let me show you an example of how I would like to see your course project process: The Story First, get inspired by gathering references: What do you love? Make a list and gather images for that list. Write ideas based on that reference. Try to come up with stories that include elements in your list.

The Sketches Make sketches and let them be weird, bad, and spontaneous.
Line Art Work on the line art, starting with your favorite elements and building upon them with your secondary and background elements.
Coloring Begin coloring! Start working on color and flatting to get the shapes of color blocked in.
Final Details Jump into the final line edits. Simplify complicated spaces. Look for tangents. Look back at your original inspiration and ask yourself if this line art has the same feel as your favorite images. Add even more extra line texture to imply more values.
Don’t forget to reference your list of inspirations and remember your goals constantly…but also let them change organically and find the story within yourself during this process. It’s more important to communicate your soul than to create perfection. Once your project is ready, share it on the forum by clicking the "Create your project" button. I will look at your publications as soon as possible and answer any doubts that need clarification. In the meantime, I encourage you to see what your fellow students have been up to and comment on their posts. See you soon!”
