“Thank you so much for taking part in this course and I hope you've enjoyed it. It's now time to work on your project. This could mean finishing the photos you started by completing the course tasks or making a brand-new project! Either way, I strongly suggest you take the time to gather inspiration and make a unique project of your own. Make sure to keep track of your progress with different pictures of each step. It'd be great if you could also explain the choices you've made along the way and tell me if you have any doubts. This will help me guide you better if you need advice. Here are the main steps to follow: Inspiration Choose your mood, setting, and subject matter by creating a mood board. Keep track of your ideas by starting a shoot deck. Plan Design your set, choose your color palette, and sketch out a few shot ideas. Preparation Identify model(s), wardrobe, and props. The Photoshoot Grab your camera equipment and take photos, keeping composition and artistic posing techniques in mind.

“So we've reached the end of the course. I'd like to say thank you for choosing to learn from me, and I hope you found the lessons valuable. Personally, I like to begin by designing a set and sketching out compositions within it. I then move on to the color palette, wardrobe, and finally the props. When you put the effort into figuring out your inspiration, this creative phase can be just as enjoyable as the shoot...”

Diane Villadsen
A course by Diane Villadsen
Diana Villadsen is a professional photographer based in San Francisco. Her interest in photography dates back to her childhood, when she took her first photo in high school in 2011. The strong response and feedback from her friends, family, and teacher encouraged her to pursue photography as a career. As she grew up in Silicon Valley, she had the pressure of choosing a professional career like technology or medicine. However, she went with her passion and chose creativity. So, she studied linguistics in college and gained her photography expertise through hands-on experimentation.
In 2013, she started posting her work on Instagram, which got a great response. Eventually, she started her career as a photographer, creating portraits and shooting lookbooks for fashion brands. She has since collaborated with well-known clients like Oppo, Native, Zappos, Albirds, and MailChimp.
