In this video lesson Tianyin Wang addresses the topic: Moving to the Details 2, which is part of the Domestika online course: Expressive Drawing with Charcoal. Experiment with composition, perspective, and proportion to create charcoal illustrations that express the soul of your subject.

A course by Tianyin Wang
Tianyin Wang is an artist currently based in London. He discovered his passion for drawing at an early age and went on to study illustration before getting his start in the editorial industry, producing mostly digital pieces. In search of a more organic medium, he began experimenting with charcoal, developing a unique style through the interplay of its different formats. He prefers drawing freehand, as it helps him capture the motion and energy of his subjects.
Tianyin has collaborated with clients including Oxford University Press, Bloomsbury Publishing, and STYLIST magazine. He has displayed his work in galleries across the UK and sold pieces to art collectors internationally. He also received a New Blood Award from D&AD in 2009 and the Larson Juhl Award from the Society of Wildlife Artists.
