“Thank you so much for taking part in this course and I hope you've enjoyed it. It's now time to work on your project. This could mean finishing the poster you started by completing the course tasks or making a brand-new project! Either way, I strongly suggest you take the time to gather inspiration and make a unique project of your own. Make sure to keep track of your progress with different pictures of each step. It'd be great if you could also explain the choices you've made along the way and tell us if you have any doubts. This will help me guide you better if you need advice. The Mood Board By creating a mood board, sharpen and solidify your concept and vision for the project, coming up with keywords. The Sketch Move on to sketching and mark making. Pick notable shapes from your source materials and explore them in different textures and feelings with various pens.

A course by June Mineyama-Smithson
Artist and graphic designer June Mineyama-Smithson grew up in Tokyo, but her curiosity for the world outside of Japan led her to study graphic and media design at the London College of Communication (UAL). She worked as a graphic designer in the branding industry, but this didn’t quite fulfill her artistic goals. Finding inspiration in the seemingly mundane, she started combining geometric shapes and bold colors, pouring her creative energy into her personal projects.
June has hosted numerous talks and lectures on visual communication across the UK, in Tokyo, and Hong Kong. She’s been part of countless urban projects, collaborating with London’s Culture Mile, On the Grid, and more. She also created her own NFT collection, When a Visionary Dreams, and now works as a graphic designer and lecturer at her alma mater, UAL
