Tania Maia is a Brazilian tattoo artist based in Lima, Peru, who specializes in the blackwork technique. Despite graduating in fashion design from the Santa Marcelina University of São Paulo in Brazil, in 2013, she left the profession to become a full-time tattoo artist. The influence of the fashion world is evident in the details of her tattoo artworks.
She has participated in three editions of the NY Empire State Tattoo Expo, one of the most renowned tattoo artist conventions in the United States. Outside the tattoo world, she has produced illustrations for various collaborations including the German cooking and surfing book Reisen Surfen Kochen in 2015, as well as projects for the BarBarian brewery and Marriott hotels, to name just a few.
