“Fundamentals and Techniques The washing technique consists of applying more diluted paint so it gets into the nooks and crannies better. I will use this figure, where I have already applied the base color. I'm going to use this color to apply the wash technique. I put the paint on the palette and add water. The difference between a glaze and a wash is that the wash must go into all the nooks and crannies without covering the base color. I dilute it. I take the figure and apply the wash technique.
