About the final project for: Visual Language with Analogue & Digital Illustration Techniques

Exploring your own Visual Language

“Congratulations! You have reached the end of this Domestika course. It has been a genuine joy sharing my knowledge and experience with you. Thank you so much. I sincerely hope you have enjoyed the course. Now I would like to remind you of some of the most important steps we gave throughout the course and that you should remember when you start doing your course project:
Sketchbooking from Reference Choose 6 illustrations from your sketchbook pages, and scan those in, putting them in a folder.

Playing with the Layout Having scanned in your images, cut them out so they are on individual layers, and begin experimenting with their layout.
Deciding on the Final Layout Once you are happy with your final composition, print this off.
Creating Textures Paint over the elements you will colour on your composition using gouache. Play around creating textures with the paint and ripping up coloured paper.
Colouring Digitally Scan in these painted and collage elements and save them in the folder. Drag these into Photoshop, and using the 'Multiply' tool, begin layering these on top of your composition. You Can use the 'Levels' (cmd+L) tool to clean up your scans.
Using the 'Hue/Saturation' tool (cmd+U), adjust the colours until you feel happy with it.
Saving and Exporting Lastly, save for the correct format.
And that's all! Thank you so much for taking part. I can't wait to see your illustrations! You can share your project with all of us by clicking on 'Create your project.' Remember to share both the final result and the steps that have led you to it. It would be great if you showed a picture of each step and added a brief explanation about what you have done in each one. If you have any questions, be sure to ask them! I will reply as soon as I can, but in the meantime, I encourage you to interact with each other. Communication fuels creativity. So, don't be afraid to reach out and collaborate with others. But most of all, have fun! See you in the forum!”

“Okay, so now we've finished the course. I hope that you enjoyed taking it as much as I enjoyed teaching it. I really hope that you found it helpful and useful and that you're able to take some of the things you've learned and apply them to your creative practice moving forward. So now you've seen me work through our final project, which was creating an A4 illustration based on my own personal visual language. I hope that some of the things that you've seen me do feel kind of relevant to you, but I really want you to bear in mind that this is completely about your visual language and it'll p...”
