“Understanding How Clay Behaves In the last lesson, I guided you through the tools that we will need. Now, I want to discuss the clay. I rolled out four tiles of clay at different levels of dryness. This stage is very important. I have the feeling that when working with the slab technique, people tend to roll out the slab and then directly start building. When you roll out the slab, the clay tends to be at this stage, so quite fragile and quite saggy. It's a bit too wobbly, I tend to say, a bit too saggy to start working with.
