Rendering is like icing a cake and icing won't fix a soggy cake, so you need to make sure your illustration has a strong base before you start rendering. We'll use all the knowledge we learned from the previous lessons to start rendering. During rendering, you are in control of how much detail you want so you can go super stylised or super realistic depending on how much detail you want to put into it.
