This might seem like obvious advice but make sure you get enough sleep the day before. A lack of sleep can affect our cognitive ability and therefore our performance on the day. In the morning, do some form of exercise, whatever it is you do, swimming, running, even a short walk. It can help you relax and take the edge off the adrenaline.
