About the video: Building Dark Tones, Highlights, and Details
Overview
“This is where I start identifying areas of the drawing where to add detail. When working on the darker areas, it is important to build the tone gradually, using either a soft or hard eraser to lift graphite. A soft eraser is better at lifting large areas of tone, while the edge of a hard eraser can be used to describe sharper highlights. I will work around these areas again with a pencil/blender to refine the detail. It is a gradual process of building tone, creating highlights, blending then repeating until the required depth of tone and detail is obtained. ”
