“ Making Marks with Charcoal In this lesson, I'll go back to the drawings we did with a pencil and explore them a bit further using a different material, using charcoal pencils, which are 6B and are very soft. I'm using them to block in areas to see if anything comes to life and takes me in a different direction. It's worth saying these pencils have soft charcoal. Sometimes it's good to have two or three sharpened in advance so you don't stop every few seconds to sharpen a new pencil. I might be swapping back and forth between the few I've got here.
