To communicate effectively and reach the viewer it is essential to have a good story to tell, but the most important thing is to know how to tell it. Moisés Arancibia is the creative director and founder of Smog, a studio specialized in storytelling through design and animation, which has given him the opportunity to explore in depth the possibilities of language and audiovisual storytelling.

In this course you will learn to tell stories with animated images. Moisés will entrust you with his procedures and techniques to facilitate the process of creating animation and motion design stories.

You will know the indispensable tools to tell an animated story through which the viewer will inevitably be attracted: the storyboard, the characters, the transitions and the visual analogies.

Finally, you will create your animatic and learn about the importance of audio when it comes to telling animation and motion design stories.

A course by Smog

Designer and animator

Moisés is a graphic designer by profession, although years of experience in this medium led him to discover the magic of storytelling as a design tool. It was then that he founded Smog with Pablo González, an audiovisual design studio created in 2006 in Santiago de Chile, dedicated to telling good stories through applied design in animation.

Smog's work can be seen in movies, television, events and digital media. They have worked with clients such as Ikea, Pizza Hut, Huawei or the World Economic Forum, although many of the audiovisual pieces they produce are for non-governmental organizations such as Todo Mejora, Oceana, Amparo y Justicia or Greenpeace.
