About the final project for: Digital Watercolor Illustration: Picture Books about Architecture

Digital Watercolor Illustration

“Thank you so much for taking part in this course and I hope you've enjoyed it. It's now time to work on your project. This could mean finishing the illustration you started by completing the course tasks or making a brand-new project! Either way, I strongly suggest you take the time to gather inspiration and make a unique project of your own. Make sure to keep track of your progress with different pictures of each step. It'd be great if you could also explain the choices you've made along the way and tell us if you have any doubts. This will help me guide you better if you need advice. Here are the main steps to follow: The Research Conduct preliminary research by collecting photos and making decisions about what to include in your final illustration. Then, create a mood board. The Sketch Draw out some thumbnail options. Evaluate them and create the final sketch, incorporating decisions about composition, white space, text placement, and color balance and value.

The Final Scene After deciding whether your final scene will be collaged in Photoshop or painted holistically, paint your final scene with watercolor and let dry.
The Digital Sketch Scan your watercolor painting. Clean up the piece. Build on the composition and work on adding or separating layers as required. Import the final image as a JPEG or PSD file to Procreate.
The Final Touches Lastly, add details, linework, and final touches in Procreate and export the final image as a JPEG file.
And that's all! I can't wait to see what you've come up with. You can share your work with us so by clicking on "Create your project". Remember to share both the final result and the steps that have led you to it. It would be great if you showed a picture of each step and added a brief explanation about what you have done in each one. I will be more than happy to answer any of the questions you might have along the way! I will try to get back to you as soon as possible. In the meantime, participate in the forum, comment on others' work, and interact with the community. See you there! ”

“Thank you everyone for taking the course. I hope you were inspired by what we talked about and learned a lot and have a million new ideas. Picture books leave visual imprints on young children's minds and they lay the foundation for their visual preferences and tastes for the rest of their lives. And if you love architecture like I do, you know how important it is to introduce young kids to both modern and historic architecture. I hope you were able to get a sense of how important the decision-making process is with picture books. Why am I making this book? Why do I think this person and th...”
