About the final project for: Architectural Drawing: From Paper to Photoshop

Architectural Drawing: From Paper to Photoshop

“You have reached the end of this course! Thank you for making it all the way here. It has been an amazing experience for me to be able to share my process with you. By using the ideas and guidance I have given you throughout this course, you’re now free to go ahead and get creative with your own project. This could mean finishing the illustration you started while completing the exercises or you could start a brand new project! Either way, I strongly suggest you take the time to gather inspiration and make a unique project of your own. Make sure to keep track of your progress with different pictures of each step. It'd be great if you could also explain the choices you've made along the way and tell me if you have any doubts. This will help me understand your creative process and guide you better if you need advice. · Brainstorm ideas through thumbnail sketches Don’t skip the first step of developing and iterating a few thumbnail sketches. This should help you loosen up, have fun, and experiment with different ideas while keeping it fast and small.

· Develop a solid composition After you put your ideas on paper through thumbnail sketching, take the time to develop a solid composition of your sketch. Try to get to the point where you’re satisfied with your composition before moving forward.
· Find reference images for your mood board Spend some time selecting the right images for your mood board so they are completely aligned with your vision for the direction you want to take with your illustration.
· Use non-destructive techniques in Photoshop Take advantage of using multiple layers, smart objects, layer masks, and adjustment layers to make your illustration easy to edit at all times.
· Have fun experimenting with Photoshop mock-ups Lastly, use various Photoshop mock-ups to open yourself to see the different possibilities and contexts your artwork can live in.
I can’t wait to see the project you will come up with, so don’t forget to share it on the forum. You can do so by clicking on "Create your project". I‘ll be more than happy to answer any of the questions you might have along the way! I'll try getting back to you as soon as possible. In the meantime, participate in the forum, comment on others’ work, and interact with the community! Sharing my own projects online opened a lot of doors for me and kept me motivated to keep growing. I can only recommend you to do the same with your work. If you share your work on Instagram too, don't forget to tag my account, Domestika's, and also to add the hashtag #DavidDrazilDomestika. That way, I can find your posts much more easily! It’s been a real pleasure. Talk to you soon!”
