“ The Basics of Macramé In this lesson, I'll teach you all the basic knots and techniques you need to know. The first knot I'll show you is called the lark's head knot. This is the knot you need to attach the cords to your dowel. To make the knot, fold your cord in half and hold the loop in front of your dowel. Fold the loop behind the dowel and bring the ends through the loop. Tighten the knot. This is the lark's head knot. The more common way of tying this is called the reverse lark's head knot.
