About the final project for: Information Design for Editorial Infographics

Information Design for Editorial Infographics

“During the lessons I taught you all the secrets to create a perfect infographic, now it's your turn! Follow these basic steps to complete your project. Don't just copy my example, but try to experiment and come up with something new. First, choose one of the 3 topics I proposed for your infographic, carry out the research and organize its contents. Then, decide which types of visualization to adopt to represent the different information. With some first sketches, start organizing the contents within a double page based on a grid that helps you to give hierarchy, compositional balance and reading rhythm.

Then, on the basis of the layout draft, create your final grid in InDesign, and insert in the layout the dimensions that will occupy the different views of your infographic. Now that you know the size of your content, draw on paper the illustrations and all those more complex elements that you need to define in detail.
At this point, digitize your illustrations, maps, and any visualizations you will use in your infographic, using Illustrator or other vector graphics software.
Finally, import all the views you have digitized onto your layout in InDesign, and organize them in the respective dimensions you had foreseen. Enter all text and graphic details, thus completing your editorial infographic.
Now share your project on the forum! Show everyone both the final result and the processing steps, documenting each step with an image and describing what you did with a brief explanation. As soon as possible, I will be happy to comment on your work. Watch colleagues' projects and encourage them by commenting on what they have shared - don't miss the precious opportunity to interact with the creative community. Thanks again for making this journey with me! ”
