“ Understanding Texture To paint the third grape, I'll be using a different technique. I won't prewet my area. Why is that? If you look at the photo references, you'll see that the border between the highlight and the shadow is quite hard. The transition between shadow and light is a hard line, so it should not be blurred. The highlight is quite visible, and the line or the border between the highlight and the shadow is quite hard. This is why I'll be using my paint on the dry surface. For that, we may want to sketch a bit the shape of the highlight. You can see the window that's reflected....”
