Product Photography for Jewelry & Small Objects
“Congratulations! You have reached the end of this Domestika course. I hope you've enjoyed exploring the world of photography further and feel prepared to capture amazing images. Don't forget that mastering this art will take time. Many of the different elements – such as composition, lighting, and angles – rely heavily on gut instinct. This will flower with experience. So don't feel discouraged as you acquire the different skills. Instead, enjoy the learning process. It's now time to work on your project. This could mean completing the series of photographs you started by completing the course tasks or making a brand new project! Either way, I strongly suggest you take the time to gather inspiration and make a unique project of your own. Make sure to keep track of your progress with different pictures of each step. It'd be great if you could also explain the choices you've made along the way and tell us if you have any doubts. This will help me understand your creative process and guide you better if you need advice. Here are the main steps to follow: The Concept First, create your photoshoot concept and mood board.

“ Final Project Thank you for taking the course. I hope you enjoyed it and learned from it. Let's recap what we learned in this course. Firstly, we created a concept and a mood board. Then we prepared shooting space, taking into consideration anything that might affect the light or the reflections in your project and keeping all of the materials that we might use handy. We then photographed our products, starting with e-commerce and building up from there. Then we selected our final images...”

Gabriela Silveira
A course by Gabriela Silveira
Gabriela Silveira is a Brazilian photographer specializing in digital content for jewelry, cosmetics, and homeware. Although she always enjoyed taking photographs, her real journey as a photographer began when she moved to Scotland at just 19. Though she touched on still life photography at university, she decided to pursue a career in fashion photography instead. Her job at a clothing brand led to her to photograph jewelry for e-commerce and eventually went freelance. Her relationship with Laboratory Perfume brought her full circle back to still life photography.
Nowadays, she uses a combination of the conceptual and theoretical skills she learned from her master’s with the experimental freestyle approach she got from art school, where she learned to step outside her comfort zone and tame her inner perfectionist. Her work explores themes like love, beauty, and death, with flowers and flesh often featuring heavily.
