Expressive Architectural Sketching with Colored Markers
“You have reached the end of this course! It was an amazing experience being able to share my personal project, my passion, and my process with you! It is now time to work on your project. This could mean finishing the sketch you started while completing the exercises or you could start a brand new project! Either way, I strongly suggest you take the time to gather inspiration and make a unique project of your own. Make sure to keep track of your progress with different pictures of each step. It'd be great if you could also explain the choices you've made along the way and tell me if you have any doubts. This will help me understand your creative process and guide you better if you need advice. Here are the main steps to follow: Choose the building you want to sketch.

“ Final Project Dear students, you've reached the end of the course. It was an amazing experience to share my passion and my process with you. I hope you got inspired to just open up your sketchbook and go create something. You already took the first steps by following me on this journey. Remember that in order to see the progress of your work, you have to practice. I'm sure that if you put enough practice into this, you'll be amazed at your progress if you look back on your sketches a few weeks from now. Just like I do, when I look back on my sketchbooks and I see the progress I've made. H...”

Albert Kiefer
A course by Albert Kiefer
Digital visualization artist Albert Kiefer enjoyed drawing from a young age, taking inspiration from what he saw on TV to create fantastical alien spacecraft and superhero suits. He studied drawing and art history at the Maastricht Institute of Arts and, after graduating, began working at a computer graphics firm, where he learned techniques like 3D modeling and rendering. With over 35 years of experience, he now works as a freelancer in the field of visualization, taking ideas and concepts and transforming them into pictures or animations.
Albert later began to miss more traditional art forms and returned to his love for sketching. As the years passed, his style evolved into the expressive and colorful one that we see today. He has published Au Japon!, a collection of sketches of Japanese buildings, and created a series of workshop videos for Gerstaecker. He also showcases his work on his website and social media under the name Housesketcher.
