About the final project for: Bargello for Beginners: Retro Needlepoint Patterns

Bargello stitched plant pot holder

“Well, guys, we’ve reached the end of the course; I hope you’ve had as much fun as I have! Throughout these lessons, I’ve taught you everything you need to know to get started in the magical world of Bargello, and I hope you’ll take those skills and create colourful, bright projects like the ones I’ve shared with you here. First, I taught you to read a pattern to know what you’re looking for when starting your final project. We used this when I took you through the basic Bargello stitches; how to get started, add colours, and finish a row.

I wanted to get you inspired, so I shared some options for patterns, including the scallops and zigzags. Hopefully, that got you inspired, so when we started to choose our colour palettes, it was a pleasant, simple process to create perfectly flowing planter panels.
Finally, we were ready to get stuck into our first ever Bargello project together. You did this by drafting and cutting the panels, and then we began to do our first stitches. Once our panels were complete, we joined them using the seaming stitch, and the edges were also perfectly finished with an edge stitch - so neat.
Last but not least, we finished our planters, and I hope by showing you some ideas and inspirations for the following projects, you’ll already be getting started on your next Bargello creation.
I would love to keep in touch with you and see what you make next; as you’ll know from the course, I am so inspired by other makers, and I can’t wait to see what colour and pattern combinations you come up with. I’ll be keeping an eye on the forum, so please do share here so we can continue to inspire one another. You’re now an official member of the #Bargellogang. I started this hashtag to connect with the other makers I’ve taught, so please do use this when you share your projects to stay connected across the web. Once again, thank you for taking part in my course; I’ll see you soon in the forum! ”
