Introduction to Islamic Art: Create Biomorphic Patterns

I am halfway through this course and I cannot say enough amazing things about it. I have learnt so much about construction and the grids for these stunning designs, and the tracing method of tracing more than once and then having a ‘’master template’’. It is informative and methodical and fun. Esra has added additional resources that are extremely helpful and lots of further reading too. This course is more than I could have asked for. Love Esra’s courses and cannot wait for more ;)

Interesting course. She explains why and how to do the steps. I enjoyed this course, even though it wasn't quite what i expected . She uses a historic design, you recreate the general lines/shape, then fill in all the other lines (the same or different as you are inspired) by pencil, transfer it, and paint it. She encourages practice, patience, and stretch your hands when tired. I was thinking it would be more geometric design but I am still glad I took the course.

I enjoyed this course a lot. I received some background knowledge and resources to pursue my interest in this further. Dr. Esra Alhamal has been a good teacher and I will definitely look forward to taking another class by her, if she decides to do one.

For the price it’s overwhelmingly cheap.
