About the final project for: Floral Drawings to Illustrate your Bullet Journal

Floral Drawings to Illustrate your Bullet Journal

“Welcome to the "Final Project" section and thank you so much for taking this course with me. I hope that you enjoyed all our classes as much as I did! I am now going to show you how to share each step of your final project with the whole community. First of all, gather your reference materials. It could be a photo or a real object.

Now, decide on your colour palette.
Sketch out your pages in pencil to decide which illustrations combine best with the page content/layouts you want to create. Share a photo of each page you are creating!
Then, block in each illustration using the material you have chosen.
Add the final details to your illustration. Remember to let the blocking in dry, when necessary. Then, complete the written element of your page with a pen.
Take a beautiful photo of each page you have created.
Finally, edit them using your favourite app or software and share the final result!
... And that's it! I am so excited to see your artistic pages. I’ll be sure to let you know my thoughts when I can, though please remember that I’m often busy with ongoing projects. Also, don't forget to comment on other people's work on the forum and give constructive feedback to help them improve. Thank you so much again for taking the time to come on this course with me. I hope you liked it!”

“Final Project We have reached the end of this course and I hope you enjoyed it. Before I go, I'd like to go over the important steps you need to take to complete your final project. In this course, we focused on how to illustrate your journals. If you want to know more about the bullet journal method, join me on my other course. While gathering materials, you don't have to spend too much money. It is about the feel of the ink and the paper, not about brands. Find those tools that will make your experience great. However, I recommend not choosing thin paper for your journal. My favourite is ...”

Annie Weir - the artist behind A Journal by Annie - specializes in bullet journaling. She studied graphic design at university in her home country of Scotland, but Annie never went on to work in graphic design roles and instead chose to pursue her love of painting and traditional illustration. In 2017 she discovered bullet journaling by chance on Instagram, and fell in love with the activity. So much so that in 2018 Annie started her first ‘proper’ bullet journal and created her Instagram account @ajournalbyannie to share her journaling online.

It wasn’t long before brands and potential clients began noticing her work and she was able to turn A Journal by Annie into a business. She has collaborated with various brands and publications including Rescue Remedy, My Life Handmade, Gaston Luga, and Simply Lettering Magazine. As well as this Annie also sells her artwork and products online.
