Davi Calil is a painter, illustrator, and comic artist. He started to produce his first caricatures and comic strips for his town's (Guararema, São Paulo) local paper at the age of 15. He has self-published two works with Dead Hamster, the publishing house which he cofounded, titled Surubotron and Quaisqualigundum, and the latter won him the Troféu HQMIX in the Single-Issue Independent Publication category.
In addition to his creative career, Davi has over a decade's teaching experience and has run workshops in a number of different Brazilian cities. He was also a character designer for Cartoon Network's animated series Haunted Tales for Wicked Kids.
