“Importing the sketch and starting work Now that I have the sketch ready, in this class, i will import it to the iPad and make some settings in Procreate. You have two options for importing your sketch to iPad. You can either scan or photograph. I prefer to scan since I have a scanner at home. So, I can keep the art pretty straight, right and with good quality. Normally, I scan at 300 DPI, as this is the output of most printers. Lygia Pires is a graphic designer with a qualification in fashion design from the Faculdade Santa Marcelina, graphic design and motion graphics from the Panamericana School of Art and Design, and drawing and illustration from the Quanta Academy of Arts. She is currently a freelancer and works out of her own studio producing calligraphy, lettering, illustration, and design pieces for big national and international names like Louis Vuitton, Mont Blanc, Budweiser, and Puma, to name just a few.
She also teaches calligraphy and lettering courses across Brazil as well as online since 2015. Her work has been published in the Australian book Typism in editions 5, 6, and 7. In 2020, she received the Communication Arts Typography Award of Excellence and the Type Directors Club New York (TDC 66) Certificate of Typographic Excellence.
