At university I was introduced to the work of Herman Zapf, a typographer and calligrapher whose typefaces never abandoned the humanist side. Their Zapfino typeface is one of my favorite calligraphy fonts, since it includes many gestural and at the same time elegant strokes. Years later I fell in love with Ricardo Rousselot, from whom I learned the do's and don'ts of flourishes.
