“In this lesson, I will talk about my main influences. I'm very drawn to textures and overly decorated work, which probably comes from my textile background. I also love pieces that take some time to discover with a lot of hidden elements and details. I especially enjoy vintage textiles like this piano shawl that is embroidered in silk. It has a direction in the stitches which I really like and it's actually one of the main reasons why I paint the way I do. I bought it in LA about 15 years ago and it still has a tag which says 1920s, It was $150. And I remember... I thought it was far too ex...”
