About the final project for: Floral Illustration with Gouache Paint

Floral Illustration with Gouache Paint

“Congratulations! You have reached the end of this Domestika course. I hope you've enjoyed exploring the world of botanical illustration in gouache. Thank you so much for joining me in this course; it’s been an honor to share my techniques with you. Now, before we end, I’d like to remind you of some of the most important steps to follow when doing your project: Creating the Mood Board Do your research and create a mood board with images and colors that really appeal to you.

Finding Shapes Find your own shapes with inspiration from the mood board. Spend time sketching and painting these shapes over and over again.
Choosing the Thumbnails Decide on a layout with the help of little thumbnails.
Sketching the Big Thumbnail Sketch out a bigger version of your thumbnail on your paper of choice.
Painting the Leaves Start painting the leaves and foliage, starting with the greens and blues.
Finishing the Artwork Continue painting and have fun!
Creating a Digital File Create a digital file from your final artwork and make a poster, or another product.
And that's all! Thank you so much for taking part. I can't wait to see your project! You can share your project with us by clicking on "Create your project." Remember to share both the final result and the steps that have led you to it. It would be great if you showed a picture of each step and added a brief explanation about what you have done in each one. This will become part of your Domestika portfolio. If you share your work on Instagram too, don't forget to tag my account, Domestika's, and also to add the hashtag #MalinGyllensvaanDomestika. That way, I can find your posts much more easily! I will try my best to engage with the forum as much as possible. If you have any questions, be sure to ask them! I will reply as soon as I can, but in the meantime, I encourage you to interact with each other. Communication fuels creativity. So, don't be afraid to reach out and collaborate with others. But most of all, have fun! See you in the forum! ”

In this video, I will give you some final tips for you to work on your own illustrations. Spend some time finding out what kind of colors you enjoy to use and what kind of shapes of flowers and animals you enjoy painting. If you find out what you love to paint, it's much easier to show up and do the work. Spending time to find your own style and what you love to do is really important to move forward.
