“Characters and Their Faces Now that our illustration is ready on a suitable sheet of paper, we will begin to paint. Personally, I usually begin with the faces, because, for me, it's the hardest part. I start with the faces because, if I make a mistake, I only have to redo this part again. But if I finish by doing the faces and I make a mistake, I'd have to redo the whole illustration. So I will take a paintbrush with a beautiful thin tip and make a mix that isn't too liquid or too thick. I always do a test on paper before applying it to the final painting.
