“Embroidering the Pattern The last thing I must do for my design is fill in the background elements. I'll reposition my hoop so I can start on that. I'll get the colors that I used to outline the background elements back out. I'm going to use a thickness of three strings to fill in, like I used to fill in the emphasis words. To fill in the background elements, I'll use the long and short stitch. You'll see that more and more stray threads are starting to pop up and that's completely normal. The longer you stitch the more stray threads are on the back. I'm going to go ahead and trim that off ...”
