Begin the course by getting to know your teacher Isabella Agosti, Italian illustrator and software developer who works in Milan. She talks about her career as an artist and how she built it by combining her two greatest passions: design and technology. She also shows you the models that serve as daily inspiration for her illustrations.
Next, Isabella introduces you to Procreate. See how to use the program's main features and explore the different types of brushes and their effects. Study the fundamentals of cartoon-style illustration as well as some basic concepts of female anatomy. Move on to the finer details and analyze a variety of facial expressions to understand how to recreate them and then apply what you've learned to draw your first sketch.
Now it's time to design your character in procreate. Take a series of reference photos, choose a color palette, and create volume in your illustration by playing with light and shadows.
Once you've finished designing your character, Isabella teaches you how to add fine details and amazing effects to bring your creation to life. Finally, learn how to sign your artwork and export it in several formats depending on the intended purpose.
