Gladys Serrano is a documentary photographer and videographer. She studied a degree in public policy and has taken part in other educational programs like the Seminario de Fotografía Contemporánea at Mexico's Centro de la Imagen as well as a visual arts diplomacy at the Centro de las Artes de San Agustín. Her work won the 2020 Gabo Prize for best coverage, awarded by the Gabriel García Márquez foundation, she was a finalist at the World Press Photo 6x6 Global Talent Program, and was also selected for the Centro de la Imagen's 7th photography biennial, XVII Bienal de Fotografía.

She currently works for the Latin American edition of EL PAÍS producing multimedia coverage on a range of topics including violence, migration, the environment, politics, and culture.
