“Preparatory Sketch Once we've finished the foreground, we can create a second layer. And we'll draw very minimalist shapes, a forest in the background. The further back the illustration goes, the simpler the format becomes to avoid having too much detail in the background and losing clarity. We are going to draw the main lines with a slightly finer brush, to mark out the spaces a bit. We'll add some smaller ones.
