About the final project for: Creating Botanical Patterns from a Drawing

Naturalist Pattern Design

“We have reached the end of this Domestika course. I want to thank you for following my lessons and making this journey with me. Now is the time to share your final project with the whole community! I show you how to do it, so you can see all the steps in your creative process. 1. Choose the subject you want to use for your pattern. Then, do some research in nature or on Pinterest to create an effective palette. Share the first draft and the palette of your choice.

2. Make a pencil drawing of your subject and then pass it in "beautiful" using the overhead projector or with the help of the light from a window.
3. Color your drawing paying attention to the shades and then draw the outlines.
4. Transfer your design to Photoshop and multiply it infinitely to create your pattern. Add the final details and a frame and get the final project done!
I can't wait to admire your finished project. Remember to take a look at the other students too: give some advice, leave your feedback and get your ideas around. Sharing is the best way to learn. I'll try to give you some advice too, but be patient if it takes me some time to do it. Also, if you like, you can share your creation on Instagram, using the hashtag #InsunsitDomestika . Thanks again for taking this journey with me. Soon!”

I started drawing as a young girl and since then I've never stopped wanting to do things with my hands. At first I told you about inspiration. It is very important in my creative process. I advise you to stay in contact with nature and what's around you, season after season. When you run out of ideas, the best designs come. We have seen how to collect ideas in a notebook ...”
