Experimental illustration techniques: find your language
“I welcome you to the "Final Project" section! After all the efforts you have made during the course, it is time to show the world your result. In order to show you all the steps of your creative process, I will show you how to structure your final project. 1. First, get inspired. Your leporello can be born from a phrase, a poem, the opening words of a book or even a song. Or it may be the images and textures themselves that suggest the next steps in the narrative. Share your sources of inspiration for this project. 2. Once you have chosen the subject, before starting with the actual illustration, your work begins with a maquette, a model of what you want to achieve. On your maquette, take notes of the techniques you want to use to paint each subject: preparing the details of your project in advance will help you approach the final leporello with more confidence.
