I’ve carried these things with me all of my life and they always seem to find their way into my work. Naturally, my main influences are other artists and designers. In this lesson, I will share some of my favourites with you, explain the impact they have had on me, and tell you what I love about their work. ”

He was the perfect illustrator to draw Roald Dahl's amazing stories. And these are two of my favourite books from when I was growing up. Dan Kelby is a freelance character designer from England who specializes in designing for the animation industry. He grew up in a creative family, inspired by cartoons and movies from the 80s and 90s, and eventually went on to study animation at Norwich University of Arts. After graduating, he worked as a graphic designer for a number of years before rediscovering his love of drawing and becoming a full-time freelance character designer in 2016.
Since then, Dan has worked for clients including Netflix, Disney Television Animation, and Cartoon Network. He also teaches classes part-time at his former university to help others improve their drawing.
