Typographic hierarchies for newspapers
“Welcome to the "Final Project" section and thank you so much for taking this course with me. I hope that you enjoyed all our classes as much as I did and that you found them useful! I am now going to show you how to share each step of your final project with the whole community. Please, avoid making a replica of what I have shown you but rather employ these processes and techniques as a guide. Start by defining the brief. Share the aim of your publication, the main theme, its ideal audience and any other detail you think could be relevant. Then, gather your content and create a flat plan. This is to provide a clear objective when designing your pages. Share your flat plan!

“Final Project We've reached the end of this course, but before I go, I'd like to revise the steps we took to complete our final project. Harry Hepburn
A course by Harry Hepburn
Harry Hepburn is a London-based graphic designer, who specializes in editorial design, specifically for newspapers. Growing up, he was always reading magazines and newspapers and eventually went on to study at art college. There, the then art director of The Sunday Times set a task to redesign the first three pages of the newspaper. Harry quickly became fascinated with newspaper design and was offered his first job in the industry by the same director.
Since then, Harry has worked for publications like The Telegraph, as well as The Sunday Times, helping them to tell important stories with his clean, concise, but punchy style. He’s also won several awards including the Society of Publication Designers Merit Award and the World’s Best Designed Newspaper along with his team in 2019.
