“Basic Outline in Ink In this lesson, we'll add an outline to your sketch to refine the edges and build out the drawing. In the last lesson we've sketched it all out until a point where we're happy with it, now we're ready to add in the linework. We've got here our spoon nib, this is a nice one to use for outlining because it gives you a consistent line and it works really nice outline. You can also use a G nib or whichever nib you take to. We'll just be starting by trying to work from left to right on your drawing. We'll start up in the top corner so you don't smudge. Pick out the sketch li...”

Philip Harris is a freelance illustrator who lives and works in Devon, England. Growing up, drawing was always an important part of his life thanks to his grandfather’s collection of sketchbooks and illustrations. He later went on to study illustration at the University of Plymouth. During his second year, Philip inherited some of his grandfather’s equipment, including a collection of dip pens and nibs, which introduced him to the technique he uses today.

Since graduating, he has worked with clients including Superdrug, Kohler, DK Books, Jack Daniel’s, Le Parisien Magazine, NowTV, New Scientist, ARTE, Goodwood Revival, Delve, Kilkenny Irish Red Ale, and Which? Money. Philip also shares his illustrations with over 20K followers on Instagram.
