Illustrating botanicals
“Congratulations! You have reached the end of the course. You already know the basics of watercolor illustration and how to use the materials, I hope you will practice a lot and master this technique. As a final project, we will use a plant or flower as a model to create an illustrated botanical composition. Once finished and digitized, we will work with it in Photoshop and use it as a graphic resource to design a set of stationery (notepad, day planner and notebook). Remember to share all your findings and experiments in the forum. I will be there watching your progress and answering any questions. See you soon!”

Paulina Maciel's first encounter with watercolor was at university while she was studying design. It wasn't until a few years later that she decided to deepen her knowledge and explore nature through this technique with professional training at a watercolor academy. Her first commission was a wedding invitation for some friends and since then, there have been many more, although not always related to wedding stationery. Her training in design has given an extra boost to her illustrations, enabling her to apply them in all kinds of projects.
