About the final project for: Powerful Female Characters: Illustrating Confidence and Diversity

X Women portraits with Procreate

“Now that you have completed this course, you can now create your own artistic portraits. Here are a few things to keep in mind to create for creating your own unique portraits: Gather your references and create a mood board. Best references tend to evoke some emotional connection with the view. Emotions like shyness, confidence, joy, sorrow etc.

Take your time in the sketching stage. This stage can make or break the art. Don’t be afraid to exaggerate forms and expressions. Don’t overdo it.
Then, start working on your portrait. Begin by laying down the basic colours and progressively add more layers of detail. Always remember to flip your canvas at least 3 times throughout the process. Don’t overdo it.
Remember the lighting and environment is one of the biggest factors in creating a realistic/semi realistic rendering style.
Be patient and don’t be afraid to start over if needed. Take advantage of the digital tools but don’t over rely on it. And most of all have fun expressing yourself. Share your final project by clicking on the "Create your project" button. I'd like to see images and a brief explanation of the main stages of the process, just like I did. I will personally look through all submissions and you can also use the forum to interact with other coursemates. You can also leave me a message and I’ll try to answer even if it takes awhile for me to respond. Once again, thanks for joining my course and best of luck in your art journey. ”
