About the final project for: Expressive Animal Portraits in Watercolor

Expressive Animal Portraits in Watercolor

“We have reached the end of the course and I hope you have enjoyed it as much as I have enjoyed doing it. Important steps for your Project: 1. Decide on what animal you are going to paint. 2. Research an image and decide whether you are going to drop background in. 3. Work out your compositing and then sketch it out. 4. Do the wet on wet painting. First, work on the character. Then, focus on the background. Work on making your cold and warm tones transition from one to another seamlessly. 5. Once the drawing is dry, highlight the close-ups of your scene. 6. Lastly, apply to glaze. Go from color block to color block. That way, you will round off the vibe of the scene. It is the last stage of the project.

I look forward to seeing your final project and seeing how your initial drawing has progressed. Share your discoveries and new ideas with others in the forum, as we can all help each other with the discovery of new ideas. I want to see all the steps of your watercolour process. So starting with the image that you want to paint, I want to see your first layer. your second layer and the finishing touches. I've also explained how to use basic layering techniques. So I'd like you to use wet into wet, and wet onto dry to...”
