“Influences In the lesson I want to tell you about the influences that led to me becoming an illustrator. As a kid, I remember my parents bought me these soccer player cards, I still have many of them. I would draw them in my notebooks, in my sketchbooks. Very carefully, I'd color them in with markers. I was fascinated by this. I'd collect them, but I especially liked the drawings. I remember having drawn the same player five or ten times until he started to come out better. I really spent hours drawing these caricatures that I copied from these cards. I also remember I used to get a childre...”

Néstor Canavarro has spent more than three decades in the world of imagery, working first as a graphic designer and later as an illustrator. He went on to teach typography at the University of Buenos Aires from 1991 to 1999, then between 2002 and 2004 he was a teacher at the Escuela de Creativos Publicitarios. It is there that he currently works as a designer and illustrator, as well as running a drawing and illustration workshop in Buenos Aires.
