About the video: Drawing a Simple Block: A Lesson in Structure

Overview

“It's time to put the information you've learned so far into action, by employing the concepts of block drawing in some practical applications. In this lesson, I will show you how to draw a block from direct observation. This will prepare you for setting up the form of the head in space. To do this, you will need a sheet of paper and some fairly hard graphite pencils (F or HB). ”

In this video lesson Dan Thompson addresses the topic: Drawing a Simple Block: A Lesson in Structure, which is part of the Domestika online course: Graphite Drawing Techniques for Planar Portraiture. Learn how to use structural forms with multiple planes to create experimental pencil portraits from observation of the human figure.
